Workshop sessions focus on particular aspects of Tai Chi in more detail than can be provided at general classes. These sessions usually take place at weekends or as part of other corporate training or educational courses and are open to existing and potential students with an interest in Tai Chi. Examples include, Principles of movement in the Tai Chi forms, an Introduction to Push Hands, Tai Chi to improve balance, Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Broadsword form etc.
Ranging from one hour to half a day these sessions usually form part of other training and staff development events and address specific themes within organisations e.g. management awareness, team building, managing change, developing personal effectiveness and managing stress at work. I have delivered workshops for clients such as Unilever, Newcastle University, AECOM, NHS senior and middle managers, Barnsley Council and the University for Industry.
Many educational organisations are aware of the potential benefits of tai chi for staff and students alike. I have worked from Primary education to University level in supporting students and teachers to manage stress levels, to develop health awareness, to be more effective, to develop teams and build personal confidence.
